Climbing – Condoriri

USD450 per person

The Condiriri has various peaks, of which the highest is the Head of the Condor, 5,700 m high.. It is demanding and is like the Matterhorn massif of Bolivia. This program includes Cabeza del Condor, Small Alpamayo (5370m), the White Pyramid (5230m), Illusion (5330m). Each peak is accessible in one day from base camp, which located on the banks of the lagoon Chia Khota (Black Lake), with magnificent views over the “Head of the Condor” and its two wings. Hans Ertl described this camp in Condoriri in 1953 as “a dream”.

Pico Tarija - Pequeño Alpamayo
Early departure (5.00 am). Our first route is to climb the Pico Tarija (5,300m) beyond which we will continue down then back up to Pequeño Alpamayo (5,350m). We then return to base camp.
3
Pico Ilusion
Early start to reach the summit of Pico Ilusion (5,350m). It is not a high climb but the approach gives us the the opportunity to practise different skills (eg. glacial traverse) and helps in our preparation for the Cabeza del Condor on the following day.

Cabeza del Condor summit
A long day to reach the summit of the Cabeza del Condor. The terrain begins on very loose rock until we reach the ice. The ascent starts relatively gently until we enter into an ice canyon where the climb becomes more technical. Once reaching the summit, we return by the same route to our base camp.
