The presence of their people, the beauty of its wildlife and its extraordinary landscapes and unique from snow to rainforest of the Yungas, make this sector one of the most attractive of Bolivia.

La Paz - Sorata
Starting from La Paz in vehicle, heading to the majestic highlands. The road goes down gently to join the provincial route Sorata. Beautiful views over the mountains to reach the village of Sorata (2700 m), with its charming small population (4 hours). We will stay in a hotel near the square. (Dinner not included).
Sorata- Ancoma - Trek Cocoyo
Leaving early in vehicle on a mountain road to the village of Ancoma. Meeting with our mules. Start of the climb between ravines and Andean crops. with amazing spectacle views over the imposing Illampu in the background. To the sides, a succession of splendid snowy hills. Our path to Cocoyo (3 hours) keeps on going down. Camping.
Trek Cocoyo - Chajolpaya
We leave Cocoyo and take a path that will lead us to the summit of Sarani (4600 m). After enjoying lunch, we are ready to go down into the mountains of Chiarhoco around Chajolpaya. Camp (4300 meters - 5 hours).
Trek Chajolpaya - Negruni
Starting from Chajolpaya, our path begins as a gentle but steady ascent towards the Negruni (4980 m). The road runs along an icy water that goes down to the Negruni valley. The campsite is 4300 meters (5 hours).
Trek Negruni - Palca/Putu Putuni
This is the least sportive day, following the sides of the mountains of Ch'iyar Juqhu. We can watch the whole Royal cordillera. The way down is interesting, with endless streams flowing down from the mountains, dragging in its waters the thaw of the mountains. Passing through the village of Palca, we set up camp a little above near Putu Putuni. (4/5 hours walk, 4430 m).
Trek Putu Putuni - Jancholacaya
This day hike takes place in the mountains of Chacocamani. In the morning we pass Huaraco (4850 m) and then descend to the village of Hankolacaya (4200 m). Camp near the river (4550 m, 5 hours).
Trek Janckholacaya - Laguna Kotia - La Paz
We change side passing Mullu (4750 Ms) on a (very little used) wagon road. From the highest point we can appreciate a scenery with several glaciers and mountains which are the Janquyu (5512 m), Mulu Apacheta (5368 m). In the afternoon we descend to several lagoons and in particular the Kotia lagoon where we set up camp. (4420 m, 5 hours).
Trek Kotia - Quebrador
Morning to rest, then we continue walking on a road gently towards the Andean foothills. Later, we go left Lake Titicaca. The road goes down zigzagging to reach Quebrador near the Ajwani (3 hours) lagoon. Camp.
Quebrador - Laguna Ajwani - Sistaña - Laguna Jurikhota
Start of climb between streams and lakes to reach the summit (4900 m). There are the most impressive panoramic view of the Cordillera Real. the great volcano Sajama then go to a farm of the plateau. The road is winding and beautiful, with Sistaña lagoon where you can have lunch and rest. From the lagoon, the road begins to climb and then goes uphill to the summit (4900 m). We take the road to the left and down to reach a blue lagoon: Laguna Jurikhota beautiful and secluded, surrounded by snowy mountains. Camp (5 hours).
Jurikhota - Laguna Glaciar - Laguna Chiarckota Condoriri
Our ascent starts quickly between large stones and curves, on the edge of a frozen lake. Then we see Condoriri Mountain (5770 m). If you want adventure, you can continue on the way up to reach the peak Austria. Located at the foot of the cairns, Condoriri Mountains National Park. Let's go down a narrow path to reach the Chiarckhota lagoon. Camp (4 hours).
Chiarckota - Chacapampa/Zongo - La Paz
Starting early from the lagoon. We take a road where begins a gentle but constant ascent. The road runs along an icy water that goes down to the lagoon. Beautiful view from the highest peak of our journey that is more than an altitude of 5000 MS. The path is made of sand and crushed rock. We go gently down shortly before ascending back a step. Spectacular view of Huayna Potosi (6088 ms). Then the descent to Zongo Valley and the town of Challapampa (5/6 hours). Vehicle to return to La Paz (2 hours). Possibility of staying in the base of Huayna Potosi if you want climb this mountain.
